Constellation wax - SOLD

This relief work summons the memory of African fabric and the rigor of artisanal gesture. Organic cells, cut in concentric layers of midnight blue and black, reveal at their heart fragments of golden yellow wax cloth with geometric patterns — like so many captive suns. Each pearlescent button, placed at the center, is a watchful eye, a luminous point in the density of matter. Black threads escape downward, roots or threads of time, connecting the work to an invisible earth.
