Hundreds of cigarette filters — silent witnesses of a habit, remnants of consumed breath — stand in tight rows against the black of oblivion. Each bears a colored dot at its summit, like a cheerful mask placed over something darker. From bright fuchsia pink to warm orange, then white and cold silver at the center, the gradient crosses the work like a fading light. This is a modern vanitas: the formal beauty of the whole first erases the nature of its components, then reveals it — and that's where the unease settles in.
